About us

REPSRoad Energy Production System is an Austrian deep-tech start-up transforming road traffic into a source of clean, renewable energy.
Our technology captures lost energy from vehicles and converts it into electricity, turning roads into power plants.
We are an interdisciplinary team of engineers, physicists and business builders working on a technology that has the potential to reshape infrastructure and energy systems.
Our ambition is bold: to build a globally scalable infrastructure technology.

Your role

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer with strong hardware development and electrical simulation background to develop our energy harvesting system mainly related to our road power plant application. The role will involve electric circuit design, simulation and testing of electrical system from prototypes to final design.

Your tasks

  • Design electronic hardware system and ensure it complies with specifications.
  • Perform circuit analysis, design verification and fault simulation using LTspice/Proteus to validate performance before physical prototyping.
  • Understanding of real-time control communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet) and peripheral drivers.
  • Prepare printed circuit board (PCB) layout and ensure its accuracy along with generation of production data.
  • Integration of stored energy and its transfer to the electric grid following the regulations from the regional energy provider.
  • Provide Hardware Electronic engineering support as required.
  • Collaborate with team members to define requirements and ensure seamless hardware-software integration.
  • Support prototype bring-up, testing, debugging, and validation in the lab using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and spectrum analyzers.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical documentation including design specifications, test reports, and user manuals.

Your profile

  • Master‘s/Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a comparable qualification
  • 2–5+ years of experience in electronic hardware development
  • PCB Design & Layout: Expertise in designing, simulating, and laying out complex printed circuit boards, considering EMI/EMC and signal integrity.
  • Lab Tools: Strong proficiency with oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and logic analyzers.
  • Software/Tools: Proficiency in Altium Designer, OrCAD, Solidworks, or SPICE simulation.
  • Hardware Knowledge: Good knowledge of the various power electronics components.
  • Protocols: Proficiency in communication protocols like SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, and Ethernet
  • Interest in the development of green energy harvesting technologies with electrical components and programming skills
  • Enthusiasm for the topics of energy transition, sustainability and future energy technologies
  • Proactive and structured work style, solution-orientated thinking and the joy to work in a dynamic start-up environment
  • Strong collaboration skills to work with electrical, mechanical, mechatronics engineers and physicists

Why us?
