About us
Your role
We are looking for a visionary Civil Engineer who is excited to build things that have never been built before. In this role, you will be the structural backbone of our energy recovery technology. Your primary focus will be the development of the Road Slabs — one of the major subsystems in our product — and the installation methods required to deploy them at scale. You will refine our technology from the lab and put it onto the world's roads.
Your tasks
Core Development (Modular Road Slabs)
- Guide the design and structural development of modular concrete road slabs specifically engineered to capture lost energy from roads
- Engineer solutions that balance the structural demands of heavy traffic with the technical requirements of embedded energy recovery technology
- Develop robust installation methodologies that allow for rapid, cost-effective deployment of road power plants with minimal disruption to traffic flow
- Perform detailed structural calculations and dimensioning of concrete elements to withstand dynamic vehicle loads while maintaining the integrity of embedded systems
- Create precise technical sketches and blueprints for modular precast concrete units, optimized for mass production and on-site assembly
- Work closely with electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic engineers to ensure seamless integration of key components within the concrete structure
- Conduct research into applicable standards and advanced materials (e.g. high-performance concrete, steel fiber reinforcement) to enhance durability and safety
- Investigate the interaction between vehicle dynamics and pavement response to maximize longevity
- Pioneer new standards for multi-functional infrastructure that combines mobility with power generation
- Oversee the entire civil-product lifecycle across: Development, Prototyping, Testing, and Real-World Implementation
- Guide the prototyping of new slab designs in collaboration with manufacturing partners, iterating quickly based on real-world feedback
- Manage rigorous testing protocols to validate key performances and behaviours (Test, document, evaluate, iterate)
- Take on project lead responsibilities for system installations, coordinating with contractors, municipalities, and internal teams
- Identify and manage suppliers capable of producing high-precision concrete components meeting our specific technical requirements
- Collaborate with precast concrete manufacturers to optimize production processes for our unique modular designs
- Liaise with construction partners and installation crews to ensure quality control during deployment
Your profile
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field
- Experience in civil engineering (e.g. infrastructure, precast concrete design, concrete technologies, construction methodology)
- Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g. ANSYS, SAP2000, or similar)
- Proficiency in 2D and/or 3D modelling and CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks)
- Deep understanding of concrete material science, reinforcement detailing, and durability standards
- You are a builder - you thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and are excited to solve complex problems at the intersection of civil engineering and clean energy
- Professional English required; German skills are very advantageous for supplier management and local pilot projects
