Regulatory & Compliance Engineer (m/f/d)
REPS GmbH
Full-time
Permanent employee
About us
Your role
We are looking for a detail-oriented Regulatory & Compliance Engineer to own all norms, standards, certifications, and legal requirements within our Civil Engineering team. Our technology exists where regulations are still catching up with innovation, meaning you will not just follow rules, but actively help shape them. You will ensure our road slabs and infrastructure meet all applicable European and international standards, and drive the certification and approval processes that allow us to deploy at scale.
Your tasks
CE Marking & Certification
- Lead the CE marking process for our road slab systems (CPR 305/2011, Machinery Directive, etc.)
- Prepare technical documentation for Declaration of Performance and Declaration of Conformity
- Coordinate with Notified Bodies and external testing laboratories
- Identify, interpret, and apply all relevant European and national standards including EN, ISO, ÖNORM (Austrian standards), and DIN norms applicable to road infrastructure, precast concrete, and embedded systems
- Maintain a living standards register and keep the engineering team aligned with current requirements
- Manage installation approval processes with Austrian and European road authorities (e.g. ASFINAG, Landesstraßenverwaltungen, municipalities)
- Prepare technical dossiers, structural assessments, and safety documentation for permitting
- Navigate RVS guidelines and Environmental Impact Assessment requirements where applicable
- Ensure designs comply with relevant Eurocodes (EN 1992, EN 1991, EN 1337) and Austrian construction law as well as relevant technical building regulations
- Verify installation methodologies meet occupational health and safety requirements (BauKG, EU Construction Sites Directive)
- Ensure materials and installation processes comply with EU environmental directives
- Support environmental product declarations (EPD) and EU Taxonomy reporting where required
- Build and maintain a comprehensive regulatory documentation system covering all approvals, test reports, and certifications
- Support ISO 9001-aligned QMS implementation, internal audits, and SOPs
- Develop a regulatory roadmap for scaling across European markets
- Engage with standardization committees (CEN, CENELEC, Austrian Standards Institute) to monitor and influence emerging standards for road-integrated systems
Your profile
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field. Additional qualifications in regulatory affairs or quality management are a strong plus
- Experience in technical compliance, regulatory, or QA role in civil engineering or infrastructure
- Experience with CE marking processes and EU product regulations
- Familiarity with Eurocodes and structural design compliance
- Experience dealing with public authorities, permitting, or notified bodies
- Working knowledge of the EU regulatory framework for construction products and infrastructure
- ÖNORM and RVS guidelines are a strong advantage
- ISO 9001 QMS and documentation management
- Professional German essential; professional English required
- Structured, thorough, and proactive: you see compliance not as a brake on innovation, but as what makes scaling possible
Why us?
- A unique opportunity to be part of a Tyrolean greentech startup from the very beginning – with a meaningful mission and the ambition to become a future unicorn
- Directly influence how regulators and standards bodies think about road-integrated energy systems
- Technically demanding and intellectually rewarding tasks with real-world impact
- Immediate and visible impact in a small, driven team
- Freedom to bring in your ideas and shape how compliance is built at REPS
- A modern work environment with space for personal growth and professional development
- Direct collaboration with the System Heads and an experienced, interdisciplinary team
- Flat hierarchies, open communication, and a startup spirit
- Flexible working hours tailored to your needs
- Competitive compensation with growth potential as we scale across Europe
